Morton/Abram Wilder Family Plots at Bellevue Cemetery in Wilmington, NC. Family members include: Abram Wilder, Jesse T. Wilder, Stephen H. Morton, M. Caroline Wilder Morton, George Lee Morton, Sr., George Lee Morton, Jr., Mildred Gracey Thompson Morton, Eliza Ward Morton. Stephen H. Morton (originally of Onslow County) moved his family to the Wilmington, NC area about 1871 and joined his brother in law, Jesse Wilder, in the lucrative turpentine distilling business. His son, George Lee Morton, took over the business a few years after his father's death in 1886. George Lee Morton, Sr. later moved his family to the Atlanta, GA area after he received a promotion with the Galena Oil Company. Although his wife, Mildred, and his son, George L., Jr., continued to live in the Atlanta area after their father's death in 1930, their bodies were interred also at Bellevue Cemetery. Additional Comments: Not shown in the picture is a marker for "C. Morton" which I believe to be Carrie Ward Morton, the 7 year old daughter of Geo. L., Sr. She died on 29th April 1899.
