Abram Wilder b.14 Jan 1813 d. 15 Dec 1884
He was the husband of Eliza Wilder and father of Caroline and Jesse.  They came 
to the Wilmington, NC area from Onslow County, prior to the Civil War.  He is 
the father-in-law of Stephen H. Morton (originally of Onslow County, then 
Wilmington, NC).  This is the inscription upon the large Morton obelisk.

Additional Comments:
There is a smaller marker for Abram Wilder near the Morton obelisk.  The root 
of a large magnolia tree has wrapped itself around his marker.
