Then I will and desire that forty feet back including the house where Mr Joshua Potts is now a resident of, at the expiration of the lease, be rented for the maintenance of a Negro woman of mine named Rachel and the maintenance and education of her three mulatto children named Mary, Kitty and Chrissy, and the child of which she is now pregnant I will and devise unto Mary Kirkwood eighty feet fronting the alley and running twenty feet including the house on said lot where Danuel Duffie is now a resident I will and divise to Anna Jane Kirkwood thirty feet fronting the alley and twenty eight feet back being part of the already mentioned lot I will and devise unto Robert Alex Kirwood son of the late John Kirkwoood father to Mary and Annie Jane already mentioned fifty acres of land on Lee's creek lying between Henry Toomer's land and the plantation where I now occupy beginning at a gum on said Toomer's land and running along his line two hundred and fifty two poles to three pines I give and devise to Elizabeth Robeson thirty feet fronting the alley and twenty eight feet the remainder of said lot to be rented yearly to Rachel and her three childen already named and the child of which she is now pregnant with with all the rest of the land lying between Lee's creek and Deep inlet creek between Rachel and her three children I will and devise Negroe men named Virgil and Quash together with my Negro woman named Fanny who live on the plantation where I now reside on Lee's creek to work for the maintenance of Rachel and children during the natural life of said Negroes I will and devise that Rachel and her children should be emancipated or set free immediately after my decease Executors: Trusty friends Joshua Potts and James Walher Wit: Henry Hooks, Jos Bland Proved March Term 1797 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/newhanover/wills/cunningh2650gwl.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 2.8 Kb
