Northampton County, NC - Augustus McDaniel Petition, 1871 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ North Carolina In the Superior Court Northampton County To the Honorable the Superior Court of Northampton County. The petition of Joseph M. Bryant, William L. Bryant, Robert W. Bryant, and Nancy T. Bryant, infants under twenty one years of age, by their guardian Augustus McDaniel, showeth to the Court that they are the owners in fee simple, subject to the dower of their mother McDaniel of a tract of Land in said county near Rich Square adjoining the Land of Miles Bryant, Reddick Bryant, Joseph Outland and Caleb Evans containing about eighty acres which descended to them from their father Joseph Bryant. Your petitioners further show that their limited means places it entirely beyond the power of their guardian to make the necessary repairs on thee said Land. Your petitioners further show that a sale can now be affected at a fair price and a sale of the same would materially and essentially promote their interest. They therefore pray the Court that a decree may be made for a sale of said Land by such person in such way and on such terms as the Court shall adjudge and that the proceeds of sale may be disposed of according to Law and the course of this Honorable Court. And you petitioners will ever pray. Danil A Barnes atty for Petitioners Augustus McDaniel and Joseph Outland make oath & affirm that they are acquainted with the tract of Land described in the petetion and they believe that the interest of the infant-petitioners will be materially and essentially promoted by the sale of said Land. Sworn before me this the 24 day of Feb 1871. Augustus McDaniel Joseph Outland N. R. Odom, clk.
