STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA,    COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
NORTHAMPTON  COUNTY 
Sept.  Term, 1817

ISAAC RICKS, SR.

 Vs.

JOHN RICKS, JR. 

   The Defendant [JOHN RICKS, JR.], not having entered his appearance, 
judgment by default is granted to the Plaintiff [ISAAC RICKS, SR] and a writ 
of inquiry awarded him to be executed next Term.

Ordered by the court that the Defendant appear at the next term of the Court 
of Pleas & Quarter Sessions  to be held for  Northampton County on the first 
Monday in December next and plead, or, judgment final will be entered against 
him, and that a copy of this order be inserted for three months in 
the “Minerva,” printed and published in the City of Raleigh.
