Northampton County, NC - Davie Leigh against James Josey, 1811 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA DEED BOOK 15, PAGE 107 4 March 1811 DAVIE LEIGH against JAMES JOSEY Where by nature of an execution in favor of DAVIE LEIGH against JAMES JOSEY and WILLIS JOSEY, and from the County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of the said County commanding the Sheriff of said County that of the goods and chatteled land and permanents of the said JAMES JOSEY and WILLIS JOSEY, to cause the sum sufficient to be made to satisfy said execution. I, ANDREW JONES, Deputy Sheriff, of said County did on the 13th day of February last, post, sell JAMES JOSEY'S right to a certain tract of land bounded by the line of ARCHIBALD COOK, WILLIAM GRANDBERRY, JAMES HORN, WILLIAM LIGHTFOOT, WILLIS JOSEY, ROE LAWRENCE, JOHN NEAL?, and EDMUND PEELE, unto EDMUND PEELE, for the sum of Fifty Four Pounds Fifteen Shillings, he being the highest bidding. Know all men by these presents that the said EDMUND, of the above said County for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy Pounds, to me in hand paid by WILLIAM JOSEY, before the sealing of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have sold and assigned and do hereby sell and assign unto the said WILLIAM JOSEY, all the Estate Right, right and title of the above said land to have and to hold the said land with all its appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said WILLIAM JOSEY, his heirs and assigns forever, as witness my hand and seal this 4th day of March 1811.
