Northampton County, NC - Deed - Stevenson, Arthur to Fly, William-1774 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives Bonnie Flythe Deed Book 5, page 344: This indenture made this seventh day of January in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy Four Between Arthur Stevenson Junr. Of Orange County and Province of North Carolina of the one part and William Fly of the county of Northampton and province aforesaid of the other. Witnesseth that the said Arthur Stevenson for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in Hand paid before the ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof the said Arthur Stevenson doth acknowledge hath Granted Bargained sold alienated Enfeoff and confirmed unto the said William Fly and to his heirs and assigns forever a Certain Tract or Parcel of land lying and being in the county of Northampton situate on the North side of Kirbys Creek and these Bounds Viz: Beginning at Maple in a Branch called the Prong Branch a Corner of Joseph Futrells thence along a line of marked trees to a Gum in a Branch near the Poplar Spring then down the said Branch to a gum in Adam Starlings Line thence along the said Starlings line to the Run of Kirby's Creek then up the Various courses of the said Creek to a line formerly called William Lileses Line thence along the said Lileses line to a Gum in the Prong Branch thence up the said Branch to the first station, containing one Hundred and eighty acres be the same more or less which said land being part of a patent Granted Isaac Starling in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Three and by Divers More Conveyances became vested in the said Arthur Stevenson Party of these presents and all Houses out houses Edifices buildings Yards Gardens Wood Trees Ways Waters Water Courses Profits Commodities Heriditiments and Appurtenances to the land Tract or parcel of land and Premises with the Appurtenances belonging or in any way Appertaining and the Reversions and Remainders Rents ____? And Profits thereof and of Every Part and Parcel thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Arthur Stevenson of and to the same and Every Part and parcel thereof and all Deeds Evidences and rightings touching or in any Wise Conveying the same. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said William Fly and to his Heirs and Assigns to the only Proper uses an Behoof of him the said William Fly his Heirs and forever and I the said Arthur Stevenson for my self my Heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant Promise and Grant to and with the said William Fly his heirs and Assigns forever by these Presents that he the said Arthur Stevenson and his Heirs said tract or Parcel of Land and Premises with the appurtenances unto the said William fly his Heirs and Assigns Against all & every person or person Whatsoever Lawfully claiming or to claim the Land or any part or parcel thereof shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents In Witness the said Arthur Stevenson have set my Hand and Affixed my seal the day and year first above written.....
