Fowler of Handsom, died in a local hospital Friday, May 23, after a week’s illness. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by two small sons; three brothers, Henry, Paulette and Julian Fowler; a sister, Agnes Fowler, and grandmother, Mrs. Lou Fowler, of Handsom. Mrs. Fowler was a loyal member of Mt. Horeb M.E. Church, being active in the Sunday school and young people’s division before her marriage. Faithful to church and family she will be greatly missed. A native of Southampton County she leaves many relatives and friends in this section. He recent home was near Murfreesboro. Funeral services were conducted from Mt. Horeb M.E. Church May 24th by her pastor, Rev. F.L. Baker. Burial was in the Askew family cemetery near Milwaukee, N.C. The casket was covered with a double spray of roses, lilies and ferns and there were other beautiful floral tokens.
