F.B. Handley of Crewe, the Rev. Felix Arnold of Boykins Baptist Church, the Rev. E.B. Loving of Boykins Methodist Church, and the Rev. R.D. Stephenson, her brother, of Franklin Baptist Church. A quartette, Mrs. H.M. Purviance, Miss Emily Hines, Mrs. A.M. Williams and L.L. Story, sang “Abide With Me,” and Mrs. Purviance sang as a solo “No Night There.” There was a large attendance as Mrs. Britt numbered many friends, and there were many beautiful floral designs. The casket was covered with pink rosebuds and gypsophila. Pallbearers were: B.D. Stephenson, W.H. Stephenson, J.P. Stephenson, C.E. Stephenson, L.L. Hoggard, C.H. Britt, J.A. Johnson and S.P. Britt. Honorary pallbearers were relatives and friends of Mrs. Britt. Mrs. Britt was the daughter of the late David Newsoms and Mrs. Lucy Gay Stephenson of Northampton County, N.C. She is survived by her husband, W. Herbert Britt; two daughters, Miss Lucy Britt of Boykins, and Mrs. Walter G. Garris of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Johnson of Norfolk, and Mrs. L.L. Hoggard of Suffolk; five brothers, the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin, J.P. Stephenson of Petersburg, C.E. Stephenson of Norfolk and B.D. and W.H. Stephenson, both of Pendleton, N.C.
