Northampton County, NC - Obituary of Ronald Bolton, 1916 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the "Roanoke - Chowan Times", Andrew J. Conner, publisher, Rich Square, North Carolina, Thursday, 20 April 1916 "Death of Ronald Bolton. Mr. Ronald Bolton, youngest son of Dr. and Mrs. M Bolton, died suddenly at Kelford Tuesday while in the act of starting his car for the return trip home. The deceased was about 22 years old and was a young man of many noble traits of character. His death has cast a gloom over the town and community. Mr. Bolton had been unwell for a few days and was taking some medicine during the day but he met J. A. Conner at Kelford on the arrivial of the afternoon north bound train, and returned to Kelford with two of the teachers of our school to meet a friend of one of the teachers who was expected on the 6:50 train. The party were ready to start the return trip and Mr. Bolton had hold on the clutch ready to put the car in motion when he expired without a struggle. As this is written we are unable to learn of the funeral arrangement, but the funeral will doubtless take place this (Wednesday) afternoon in the Methodist Church of which the deceased was a member. The parents, brother and sister have the heartfelt sympathy of all our people in this sad hour." ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
