C., Succumbs Early Sunday Morning To Pneumonia Attack. RICH SQUARE, N. C., Sept. 10.- (Special)-John Elwood Copeland, well known citizen of Rich Square, died early Sunday morning at his home, at the age of 57, with pneumonia. Mr. Copeland was a member of a well-known family in eastern North Carolina and spent most of his life here, except for a period of fifteen years around Suffolk, Va. He was a member of the Masonic and Junior Orders, and for a long time active in civic affairs. He was twice married, first to Miss Mamie Oliver, Suffolk, Va., who died some years later. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. J. S. Liverman, Winterville, N. C. Later, he married Mrs. Nora Parker Anderson, who survives him. He is also survived by Mrs. Liverman; one step-daughter, Mrs. C. M. Billings, Raleigh, N. C,; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Griffin, and Mrs. Minnie Britton, Woodland, N. C.; one brother, Mr. C. V. Skiles, Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 1 o'clock Monday. Interment will be in Suffolk cemetery, Suffolk, Va., at 4 o’clock.
