All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bruce Saunders bs4403@verizon.net January 15, 2014, 10:08 am THE TIDEWATER NEWS – 11-09-1934, P. 8 VERNON CROCKER Friends here have been advised of the sudden death of Vernon Crocker, former Franklin citizen, which occurred at his home in Currensville, Penn., October 22, Mr. Crocker, who was a native of Seaboard, N.C., was born August 25, 1877, the son of the late James and Mrs. Sarah Jane Stephenson Crocker. He lived for a number of years in Franklin where he was a valued employee of the Camp Manufacturing Company. On June 25, 1914, he married Miss Alice M. Leech of Curwensville, and they moved to Curwensville in 1924 where they resided until his death. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Misses Sarah Jane and Nell Crocker. He was a man of many fine qualities, a consistent Christian and a faithful member of the Baptist Church. Burial was held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville on October 25.
