JESSE GODWIN FRANCIS

   Funeral services for Jesse Godwin Francis, 78, who died early Tuesday 
morning, March 26, at his home near Boykins, were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 
p.m. in Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. William Stennett, pastor, officiating.

   Mr. Francis, a farmer and native of Northampton County, N.C., was the husband 
of Mrs. Dennie Johnson Francis and the son of the late Jesse Carter and Mrs. 
Albert Francis.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Vick of 
Boykins; three sons, Nathan Francis of Conway, N.C., and Herbert and Jesse 
Francis, both of Boykins; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Pierce of Sedley and Mrs. 
Liza Jane Pope and Mrs. Elma Spates, both or Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; 14 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

   Burial was in the Conway, N.C., cemetery. Active pallbearers were Roy Ricks, 
Allen Harris, William Taylor, George Bryant, Otis Davis and Collis Davis.
