The Semi-Weekly Messenger (Wilmington NC) 23 August 1898
Weldon News: Dolly Gray, doubtless the oldest person in North Carolina, died at
her home in Northampton county last week, aged 105 years old. This old woman
formerly belonged to the Gray family of that county and her age is duly
authenticated, it having been preserved in the family records.
