She was the daughter of the late Junius and Anna Turner Brewer of Northampton County, N.C., and a member of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church, near Handsom. Surviving her are three sons, James L. Griffin and Joe Griffin of Franklin and Charley C. Griffin of Handsom; one daughter, Mrs. Emmett Story of Handsom; one grandchild, Hugh Brewer of Emporia and Zollie Brewer of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and four sisters, Mrs. Herman Story of Emporia, Mrs. R.G. Laine of Petersburg, and Mrs. George Jenkins and Mrs. Bennie Story, both of Roanoke Rapids. Finals rites for Mrs. Griffin were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock by Rev. O.L. Gochenour of Newsoms, pastor of Mt. Horeb Church. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Serving as pallbearers were J.L. Bryant, Andrew Ferguson, Johnny Jenkins, B. Presson, Randolph Ricks and Jesse White.
