SIDNEY CLOID JORDAN, SR.

   A funeral service for Mr. Sidney Cloid Jordan Sr., 86, who died Monday night 
at a Portsmouth Convalescent Home, was conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. 
at the graveside in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with his pastor William O. 
Hudson and the Rev. W. Charleston Holloman, officiating.
   A native of Northampton County, North Carolina, Mr. Jordan was the husband of 
the late Mrs. Lillie Murfee Jordan, and a son of Andrew Jackson and Mrs. Rosa 
Cloid Jordan.
   He was a retired farmer and a member of the Branchville United Methodist 
Church.
   Surviving are 4 sons; Calvin Jordan and Louis Jordan, both of Branchville; 
Virginius Jordan of New Bern, N.C. and Sidney C. Jordan Jr. of Newport News, nine 
grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were: Louis J. Leitner, Rod Jordan, Kenny Jordan, Gene Jordan, 
Cary Jordan, and Aubrey Woodard.
   McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, was in charge of arrangements.
