BESSIE BRIDGES LANIER

   Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Lanier, 79, were held in the Creeksville 
Baptist Church near Conway, N.C., on Sunday afternoon by Rev. J.M. Duncan, 
pastor, assisted by Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church. 
Interment was in the church cemetery.

   Mrs. Lanier died Friday night, April 11, after an extended illness. She was 
the widow of the late Joseph A. Lanier. 

   Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hersey Lassiter, Mrs. W.S. Davis and Mrs. 
George Flythe, all of Conway and A. Glenn Lanier of Franklin; and nine 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
