TESSIE DAUGHTREY LASSITER

   FRANKLIN – Mrs. Alvin G. (Tessie) Lassiter, 81, died in the home of a 
daughter, Mrs. Ella Mae Phillips, Tuesday afternoon after a short illness.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of William and Mrs. 
Bellvie Cotton Daughtrey and the wife of Alvin G. Lassiter of Conway, N.C.  She 
was a member of Lasker Baptist Church in Northampton County, N.C.

   She is survived by four other daughters, Miss Margaret Lassiter of Franklin, 
Mrs. Sarah Barnes and Mrs. Almedia Lynch of Roanoke Rapids, and Mrs. Mildred 
Davis of Conway; two sons, Alvin J. Lassiter of Portsmouth and Haywood Lassiter 
of Conway; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

   A funeral service will be conducted today, Thursday, at 3 p.m. (D.S.T.) in 
W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Rev. Lonnie Sasser former pastor of 
Lassiter Baptist Church, Northampton Co., N.C. the Rev. Floyd Key of Creeksville 
Baptist Church. Burial will be in Creeksville Baptist Church Cemetery.

   Active pallbearers are Linwood Kirkland, Earl Lassiter, Clyde Smith, George 
Jacovides, Linwood Rowe and Theodore Lassiter.
