Northampton County, NC - Obituary of Mrs. Millie McDaniel, 1896 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the "Patron and Gleaner", Andrew J. Conner, publisher, Rich Square, North Carolina, 7 January 1897 "Mrs. Millie McDaniel, the wife of Mr. Robert McDaniel, died on Dec. 22, 1896, of paralysis. Mrs. McDaniel has been a great sufferer for years. She has been deaf for nearly ten years, and since that time she has been a great sufferer, but she bore it all with a Christian resignation and fortitude. She joined the Baptist church at Potecasi when quite young and attended faithfully as long as her health would permit. Her daily life showed that she was a follower of the meek and lovely Savior. A few hours before she died she sang the song "Sovereign Ruler of the Skies" rendering each word with a loving pathos that proved she felt what she was singing. She left a husband and eight children to follow her living example of Christian faith. She was always very anxious to get the PATRON AND GLEANER and read it each week with great intrest. M. J. O Jan. 5, 1897" From the "Patron and Gleaner", Andrew J. Conner, publisher, Rich Square, North Carolina, 4 June 1896 "Mr. Robert McDaniel had a stroke of paralysis last Wednesday which partially paralyzed one side. She is better at the present." (In the above excerpt, they meant Mrs. Robert McDaniel.) ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
