WILLIE JORDAN SMITH

   BURDETTE – Willie Jordan Smith, 86, died Wednesday in the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. William E. Drewry, after a short illness.

   He was a son of Jessie and Mrs. Elizabeth Odom Smith and the widower of Mrs. 
Addie Gray Smith.

   A native of Northampton County, N.C., he was a retired carpenter and a member 
of Boykins Baptist Church.

   Besides his daughter, surviving are six brothers, Samuel Smith of Portsmouth, 
Thomas Smith of Richmond, Jessie Smith and Luther Smith of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., 
Eddie Smith of Salem and Lonnie C. Davis of Milwaukee, N.C.; and two sisters, 
Mrs. Charlie Johnson of Milwaukee and Mrs. Oscar Lassiter of Portsmouth.

   A funeral service was held Friday at 3 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, 
Boykins, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery.
