Joseph Holland and the Rev. John Williams. Burial was in Severn, N.C. Pallbearers were Raymond Porter, E. Beale Carter Jr., James Porter, Howard Ellis, W.R. Bryant and Welford Barkley. Taylor, 66 of 718 Hamilton Ave., died Saturday morning in a hospital. A native of Galatia, N.C., he was a son of Ernest R. and Mrs. Bessie Barkley Taylor and the husband of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ellis Taylor. A retired Norfolk Naval Shipyard machinist and a farmer, he made his home in Portsmouth of 41 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Acree S. Ellis of Newsoms, Mrs. Lois Johnson of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Jeanette Sutton of Suffolk.
