BETTY AVENT TYLER

SEVERN, N.C. – Mrs. Betty Avent Tyler, 76, died Sunday afternoon in her home.
A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Delbroe C. and Mrs. Delia 
Sykes Avent and the widow of Willie Russell Tyler.
She was a member of Severn Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Linda Avent Tyler of Severn; a son, Marion 
Lee Tyler of Severn; three sisters, Mrs. Ida A. Locke of Suffolk, Mrs. Lettie A. 
Johnson of Franklin and Mrs. Nolie A. Bolton of Margaretsville; and two 
grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Seven Baptist Church by the Rev. 
John Dean.
Burial was in Severn Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, 
Murfreesboro, in charge.
