Northampton County, NC - Wills - Blanchard, Jr., Nathan W. - 1919 Will of Nathan W. Blanchard, Jr. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA NORTHAMPTON COUNTY; I, Nathan W. Blanchard of the above state and county, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament, in the following form and manner. ITEM I It is my will that all my debts be paid. ITEM II It is my will and descire that my executor shall sell all of my property both real and personal and attend to the execution of this my last will. ITEM 3 It is my desire that my executor shall pay unto A. P. Griffin Twenty five Dollars and take that amount from what would go to Dr. C. F. Griffin, N. E. Griffin and J. P. Griffin. ITEM IV It is my will that my executor take out of the amount that would go to Henry Blanchard, Frazier Blanchard, Nannie Sutton and Leona Blanchard Fifty Dollars and interest from the date of this will at six per cent per year for work done by N. W. Blanchard on the home of Carrie Blanchard. It is my will and desire that after items 1,2,3 and 4 have been complied with my executor shall equally divide the remainder with J. P. GRIFFIN, DR. C. F. GRIFFIN, A. P. GRIFFIN, N. E. GRIFFIN, C. H. GRIFFIN, NETTIE ODOM, ANNA LAWRENCE, HENERY BLANCHARD, NANNIE SUTTON, FRAZIER BLANCHARD, LEONA BLANCHARD, N. W. BRITTON, T. C. BRITTON, LULA FRANCIS COOK, MISSIE BLOW, L. M. BLANCHARD, C. H. BLANCHARD, CLYDE BLANCHARD, GURNEY BLANCHARD, LEWTER McDANIEL, S. P. McDANIEL, PAUL McDANIEL, CLOE McDANIEL, BESSIE DUNNING, ANNIE STORY, NINA WILDER, SELVIN BLANCHARD and J. L. MITCHEL the boy that I raised. I hereby appoint my brother R. W. This 14th day of Jan, 1919. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA: ss. IN THE SUPERIOR COURT. NORTHAMPTON COUNTY: A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of NATHAN W. BLANCHARD, deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court for said county, by R. W. Blanchard, the executor therin mentioned, and the due execution thereof by the said Nathan W. Blanchard is proved by oath and examination by W. N. GRIFFIN AND C. J. VAUGHAN, the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn, doth depose and say, for each himself deposeth and saith; that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him, and purporting to be the last will and testament of Nathan W. Blanchard; that the said Nathan W. Blanchard in the presence of this deponent, subscribed his name at the end of the said paper writing, which is now shown aforesaid, and which beard date of the 14th day of January, 1919. AND THIS DEPONENT FURTHER SAITH, That the said Nathan W. Blanchard, the testator, aforesaid, did, at the time of subscribing his name aforesaid, declare the said paper deponent so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last will and Testament, and this deponent did thereupon did subscribe his name at the end of said Will, and attesting witness thereto, at the request and the presence of the said testator. And this deponent further saith that at the time when the said testatrix subscribed his name to the said last Will as aforesaid, and at the time of the deponent's subscribing his name as attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid, the said Nathan W. Blanchard was of sound mind and memory, and of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint, to the knowledge, information or belief of this deponent: And further deponents say not. It is therefore considered and adjudged that the paper writing and every part thereof is the last will and testament of Nathan W.
