Northampton County, NC - Wills - Bryant, William Lawrence - 1924 Will of William Lawrence Bryant Realizing the uncertainty of life and knowing that I may be taken away suddenly at any time without warning, I, William L. Bryant being of sound health at this time and disposing memory do make, declare and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills heretofore made by me. FIRST. I declare all my just debts to be paid and my body given a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives. SECOND. I give, devise and bequeath unto my son, Perry Bryant any and all my team, cattle, hogs, provisions of all kinds and my farming implements of all kinds of which I may die seized and possessed; I also give and devise unto my son, Perry Bryant in fee simple absolute my home place on which I now reside containing 50 acres, more or less, adjoining the lands of Perry Bryant, A. Bolton and Blannie D. Minton and the Fennel place which I now own; I also give and devise unto my son Perry Bryant in fee simple absolute that part of the said Fennel place which adjoins my home place which is on the east side of a certain ditch which goes across the said Fennel place devised herein to my said son Perry Bryant containing about forty acres by estimation. THIRD. I give and bequeath unto my son, Ray Bryant in fee simple absolute all the remaining portion of the said Fennel farm which is on the west side of said ditch mentioned in Item 2 above and which contains the dwelling house on said farm and about ninety acres of land by estimation. FOURTH. I give and bequeath to the children of my late daughter, Essie Bryant Futrell the sum of FIVE DOLLARS each; I have already given to them sums of money which in my judgment is sufficient for their share in my estate, and the sum of FIVE DOLLARS each is all that I desire them to have. FIFTH. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Blannie B. Minton and my sons, Perry Bryant and Ray Bryant, share and share alike, any and all the moneys, stocks, notes, and bonds and all other personal property not devised in the second item of this Will. SIXTH. I request my said children, Blannie B. Minton, Perry Bryant and Ray Bryant to take loving care of their mother, my wife, Jennie Bryant, so long as she shall live and to see that she wants for nothing which will add to her comfort and enjoyment of life and I have made no other provisions for my beloved wife in this Will as I believe my said children will care for her as well as they possibly can so long as she is spared to live with us; in the event my wife desires to do so I wish her to receive from my estate the amount of property allowed her out of my real and personal estate by the laws of my State. SEVENTH. I do hereby appoint my two sons, Perry Bryant and Ray Bryant as Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do request that no bond be required of them for the faithful performance of their duties as such. his William L. Bryant in our presence and we have, at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other hereto set our names as subscribing witnesses thereto this 1st., day of February, 1924. S.
