Flythe Northampton County Will Book 3, pg. 333 Will of Charles Crump In the name of God Amen. I Charles Crump of Northampton Co. and state of North Carolina being of sound mind do make this my last will and testament as follows Vizt: 1st. I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary Crump one sixth of the whole of my estate during her life and after her death it is my desire that her part of my estate should be equally divided amongst my children except my landed estates which is to be distributed equally amongst my sons 2nd.: It is my desire that after my wife Mary has taken her sixth of my estate that the balance should be equally divided amongst my children except my lands which is to be divided equally amongst my sons 3rd.: It is further my request that my daughter Mary Eliza Crump should share no part of my landed estate on account of which I give and bequeath unto her forever one negro woman named Milly and her future increase over and above her share of my negros 4thly: I do hereby ordain my worthy friends James Exum and Richard Crump executors to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal as this my last will and testament this eighteenth of January on thousand eight hundred and seventeen. Was exhibited in open court and the following jury (to wit) Elliott Futrell, Britton Lassiter, James Young, James Edwards, William Odom, Moses Futrell, Jason Futrell, John Outland Josiah Parker, Richard Faison, Phillip Piland and John Buck being impanelled and sworn to say whether the paper writing exhibited contained the last will and testament of Charles Crump decd. Or not upon their oaths do say that the said paper writing does contain the last will of Charles Crump decd.
