Colbert clycolbert@aol.com April 3, 2006 Dew, John, will date 2 Sep 1749, recorded June Ct 1760; In the Name of God Amen, I John Dew of No Carolina in the County of North Hampton Gent being weake of body but of sound perfect mind & memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God... first and principally I command my soul unto the hands of Almighty God... my body to be buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named... touching the disposition of all such Temporal Estates as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose of as follows, to wit that my debts & Funeral expenses shall be paid & discharged... item, I give to my son Abraham 200 acres of land on (Potahersy) with all my Joyners Carpenters & Coopers Tools; item, I give to my son John the plantation whereon I now live bounded by Coopers Branch and the Reidy Branch and one Negro fellow named (Nerrow); item, I give unto my son Arthur 200 acres on the creek between Jacob Ricks and John (Piece of page missing, land is on Coopers Creek); item, I give to my daughter, (Elizabeth ? ) one cow and calf; item, I give to each of my sons one feather bed and furniture; item, all the rest of my estate to be divided between my loving children, Abraham, Arthur, John, Sarah Priscilla and Marry and I appoint my loving son, Abraham full & sole executor of my Last Will and Testament and (Benjm Mill) as my (blank) to advise and direct my son; wit Benjm Mill (proved), John Word, Jr (W), William Tyner, Jr. (proved).
