Northampton County, NC - Wills - Dickinson, Mary-1753 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Vikki Highfield In the name of God Amen the Sixth day of October in the year of our Lord 1753 I MARY DICKINSON of Northampton County in North Carolina being Sick and weak in body but of Sound and perfect memory thanks be given to God therefore Calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is apointed for all men one to Dye do Make and Ordain this my Last will and testament that is to Say princible and first of all I Recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it as for my body I Recommend it to the Earth to be buryed in a Christian like and Decent Manner at the discretion of my Executors nothing Doupting but at the General Resurrection I Shall Receive the Same again by the Mighty power of God and as touching Such wourlly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I Give Devise and Dispose of the Same in the following Manner and form Viz, Item. I Give and bequeath to my brother DANIEL DICKINSON one Negro Girl Called Dinah he paying my Brother DAVID DICKINSON half the Value that the Said Girl Shall be Deemed to be worth. Item I Give and bequeath to my brother JOHN DICKINSON ten pounds Current money of Virginia. Item I give and bequeath to my brother ISAAC DICKINSON one feather bed and furniture and four head of Cattle and Seaventeen Yards of Cloth and Eight pounds Virginia Currency. Item I Give and bequeath to my Kinsman WILLIAM NEWSUM six punds Virginia Currency. Item I Give and bequeath to my Sister CHARITY PEELLE all my wareing Clothes and five pounds Virginia money and as to the Rest of my Estate to pay my Just Depts and after they are Discharged to be Equally Divided between my two sisters SARAH DANIEL and ELIZABETH FUTROL and of this my Last will and testament I Nominate Constitute and appoint my two brothers DAVID DICKINON and ISAAC DICKINSON my whoe and sole Executors Revoaking and Annulling all Other wills by me heartofore made Ratifying and Confirming this and No Other to be my Last will and testament Signed Sealed Published and Pronounced and Declared to be my Last Will by me the testator. The above written Will was proved in open Court by the Oath of SUSANAH PARKER one of subscribing witness thereto; at same time DAVID DICKINSON was qualify'd Executor thereto which on motion was ordered to be Cortify'd.
