Northampton County, NC - Wills - Dupree, Jacob-1815 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Bobby Dupree Jacob Dupree's Will In the name of God Amen I Jacob Dupree of Northampton County and State of North Carolina being of a sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows - Item, I give to my daughters Amy Phada and Mary Curtis all my lands except fifty acres adjoining the lands of Ann Roper (which fifty acres is to be allotted and laid off in the most convenient manner) I also give to my said daughters all my crop of corn and stock of hogs to them their heirs and assigns forever.- Item. I give to my daughter Amie one negro boy named Holland one choice horse one cow and calf one bed & furniture and one third part of all my pewter to her her heirs and assigns forever.- Item. I give to my daughter Phada one negro girl named Hannah one second choice horse one cow and calf one bed and furniture and one third part of all my pewter, to her, her heirs & assigns forever.- Item. I give to my daughter Mary Curtis one negro woman named Abba and child Suckey and their future increase one third choice horse one cow and calf one bed and furniture and one third part of all my pewter, to her, her heirs & assigns forever.- Item. I give to my grand daughter Elizabeth Dupree the fifty acres of land above recited to be taken off that part of my land adjoining the lands of Ann Roper, but provided my said grand daughter should die without lawful issue, I then give the said fifty acres of land to the whole of my children to then their heirs & assigns forever.- Item. I give to my grand son Benjamin Hall one negro boy named April one sorrel mare one bed and furniture and one cow & calf to him his heirs & assigns forever.- Item. I give to my grand son James Hall one bed and furniture & one cow and calf to him his heirs and assigns forever. Item. My will and desire is that my negro man Roger shall have the privilege of choosing either of my children for his owner, and which ever he may make choice of I give him the said Roger to, to him or her his or her heirs & assigns forever. Item. My will and desire is that all the residue of my estate not above mentioned shall be equally divided between my son James and daughters Amie Phada and Mary Curtis to them their heirs & assigns forever. I do hereby nominate and appoint my daughter Amie Dupree and Lewis Dupree executive and executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony where of I have here unto affixed my hand & seal this 21st day of May 1815 Signed sealed & acknowledged in presence of Lewis Dupree John Justice Samuel Rivers Jacob + Dupree (seal) Mark Northampton December Court 1815 this last will and testament of Jacob Dupree dec'd was proved in open Court by the oaths of Lewis Dupree and Samuel Rivers subscribing witnesses thereto, and the executor and executive therin named refusing to qualify thereto, administration on the estate of the Jacob Dupree dec'd is granted with his will annexed to James Dupree, who gave bond with security according to law & was qualified ordered that said will be recorded.
