Northampton County, NC - Wills - Futrall, Benjamin-1784 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Gerald Byrd Last Will and Testament of Benjamin Futrall In the name of God & men I Benjamin Futrall of Northampton County & State of North Carolina being of poor health but sound mind & memory thanks be to god therefore by calling to mind the mortality of my body do constitute & ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form following; that is to say I would that all my actual debts be paid. Item: I give & bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Mainer Ten shillings & specie- Item: I give & bequeath to my son Thomas Futrall Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my Grandson Davis (Ricks) Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Bagby Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Benjamin Futrall Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Arthur Futrall Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Frederick Futrall Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Moses Futrall Ten Shillings. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Ethelred Futrall my plank station & all the land thereto belonging after my wife deceases to him & his heirs forever. Item: I give & bequeath to my grandson Benjamin Futrall my Negro Woman named Sue after his grandmother deceases to him & his heirs forever. Item: I give & bequeath the residue of my Estate to my wife during her natural life & after her deceas the same be equally divided among my four youngest Daughters & I do nominate and appoint my friend Winborne Jenkins & my son Ethelred Futrall my Exors. Of this my last will & testament making void & all other wills heretofor set my hand seal this 20th day of October 1784. Signed, sealed & delivered in presence of (Hamand) Mills, John (Mooreling), Thomas Futrall & Benjamin Futrall. His Benjamin (X) Futrall Mark Northampton County June Court, 1785. This will was exhibited into court & proved by the word of Thomas Futrall & at the same time Ethelred Futrall qualified execs.
