Northampton County, NC - Wills - Hart, Thomas-1748 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Vikki Highfield In the Name of God Amen: The 6th day of March 1748 I THOMAS HART of Northampton County of North carolina being in Perfect mind and Memory Thanks be given unto god Therefore Calling Unto mind Therefore the mortallity of my Body and Knowing that it is Appointed for all men to dye do make and Ordain This my Last will and Testiment That is to Say principally and First of All I Give and Recommend my Soul Into the hands of God that gave it and my Body to The Earth to be buried in Decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of My Extrs. Not doubting butt att The General Resurection I Shall Receive the Same Again by The mighty power of God and as Touching Such worldly Estate wherewith itt Pleased Almighty to bless me with in this Life I give and Divise and Dispose of the Same in the following manner and form. Imprimas I Loane the Use of manner Plantation with all my Land Belonging to it Unto my beloved wife MARY HART During Her Natural Life. Item: I Give and Bequeath Unto my Loving Son HENRY HART my Plantation in The Meadows where NATHANELL SANDERS Formerly Lived with all the Land belonging to it. Item: I Give and Bequeath Unto my Grandson JOHN SANDERS the Lower part of my Survey as I took Up in the Meadows to be Sixty acres by Line of Marked trees More or Less and Residue of the Land Survey I Give and bequeath Unto my Loving Son HENRY HART. Item: I Give and bequeath Unto my beloved wife MARY HART My Negro wench called Harte and her hearas her Increase and to be att her Disposall as She Think Fitt. Item: I Give and Bequeath Unto my Loving Son HENRY HART My Mill with all appurtenances belonging to itt and Three Negores To Witt: Robin, Archer, and Treece. Item: I Give and Bequeath Unto my two Loving Daughters JANE BROWN and MARY SANDERS Fourty Shillings Proclaimation money to Each of them to be Levied and Raised out of my Estate. Item: I Give and Bequeath Unto my five Grand Children To Wit: JOHN SANDERS and SARAH SANDERS and EURIDICE SANDERS and THOMAS SANDERS and MARY ROSE SANDERS. Each of them two Cows and Calves to be Levied and Raised out of my Estate and to be paid when they come to age or Married. Item my will and Desire is that when my Just Debts is Paid that the Residue of my Estate Both within Dorrs and without with Stock of all Kinds Shall be Equally Divided between my Loving Son HENRY HART whom I appoint my whole and Sole Exctr. and my Loving wife MARY HART and I do hereby Utterly Revoke all former wills and Testiments before Named by me Ratifying and Confirming this and No Other to be my Last will and Testiment In witness hereof I have Sett my hand and Seal the day and year above Written and my will and desire is that my Estate Shall not in no ways be Valued and Appraised 1749.
