Northampton County, NC - Wills - Hart, Mary-1759 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Vikki Highfield In the name of God amen, this 24 day of October in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & fifty nine, I MARY HART of Northampton County & Province of North Carolina being in perfect health mind & memory thanks be to almighty God & calling to mind that it is appointed for all men to die when it shall please God to call I do therefor make & ordain this my last will & testament recommending my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body to be buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named, and as touching of my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with my Just Debts & funeral expenses being first paid I give & dispose of the same n manner & form following (viz) Item, I give & bequeath unto my Daughter MARY SANDERS ten shillings current money of Virginia to her & her heirs forever in full of her share of my Estate. Item I give devise & bequeath unto my Daughter JANE BROWN ten shillings current money of Virginia to her & her heirs forever in full of her share of my Estate. Item I give devise & bequeath unto my Grand Daughter BRAMLY CAROLINE BROWN five pounds current money of Virg to her & her heirs forever. Item I give devise & bequeath unto my Grand Daughter MARY ROSE SANDERS five pounds current money of Virginia to her & her heirs forever. Item I give devise & bequeath unto my grandaughter LOUISA SANDERS the Daughter of WILLIAM LANCASTER & SARAH his wife my negro boy named Sterling to her & her heirs forever. Item I give devise & bequeath unto my son HENRY HART my four Negroes named Kate, Florah, Jenny & Bain & their increase from this time with all the remainder of my Estate both in Doors & without to him & his heirs forever. Lastly I do hereby nominate & ordain and appoint my Son HENRY HART my sole Executor of this my last will & Testament hereby ratifying & confirming the same In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & fix my seal the day & year first written. The preceding will of MARY HART decd was exhibited in Court and proven by the oath of all the subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time HENRY HART was qualified Executor of which on motion was ordered to be certified.
