Northampton County, NC - Will of Nancy Jones, 1870

I Nancy Jones, of the State of North Carolina and county of Northampton; being 
of sound mind and memory do hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament.  
Item 1.  To the exclusion of every other person whomsoever, I do hereby make and 
constitute the following persons as sole legatees of all my worldly possessions:  
Viz.  James Morris Bryant, William Lawrence Bryant, Robert Bryant, and Nancy Bryant.
Item 2.  To Nancy Bryant, i give and bequeath one Bed and one Trunk.
Item 3.  The remainder of my personal estate and all of my real estate shall be 
sold, and the proceeds, after paying expenses of sale, shall be equally and 
impartially devided between the four above mentioned legatees.
Item 4.  All moneys of which I may die seized and possessed shall be equally 
distributed to the said four legatees.
Item 5.  The condition of this will is such that in case my death should occur 
before that of my Mother Mrs. Lucy Jones, the personal and real estate shall not 
be sold, but shall revert to her for her own use and benefit during the remainder 
of her life, and at her death the requirements f this will shall be fully carried 
out.
Item 6.  To guard against any mistake in the identity of the four above mentioned 
legatees, I will say that they are the surviving children of Mrs. Margaret 
McDaniel, by her former husband Joseph H. Bryant.
Item 7.  I do hereby enjoin all persons whomever not to interfere with or endeavor 
in any manner to subvert or overthrow this my last true will and testament under 
penalty of the wrath of a just, everlasting and almighty God.
Dated the 1st day of August A. D. 1870.

Item 8.  I do hereby make and appoint Lemuel H. Boyce as my lawful executor.
