Northampton County, NC - Wills - McDaniel, Elisha - 1838 Will of Elisha McDaniel Know all men by these presents that I Elisha McDaniel of Northampton County & State of North carolina Calling to mind the mortality of the body & being in perfect mind do constitute and appoint this my last will & testament in manner & form as follows 1 I give my body to be berryed in Christian like manner & my expenses to be paid by my Exr. Hereafter named 2 I give and bequeath unto my son James McDaniel one Bed & furniture that is to say the little Bed also my negro woman Peggy & her son Ellick to him & his heirs forever 3 I give & bequeath unto my son Peter McDaniel the one half of my Land that is to say the North part whereon he now lives also I give unto him my negro girl Harriet unto him & to his heirs forever 4 I give & bequeath unto my son Stephen McDaniel my Clock, my mule & five barrels of corn also the heifer now in the possession of Mm Baker & one heifer which I have at home also my negro boy Ben and the one half of my Land the part whereon I now live unto him & his heirs forever 5 I desire that the residue of my property not heretofore given away shall be sold by my Executor and three hundred dollars given unto my daughter Nancy Blanchard & to her heirs forever And two hundred dollars given unto Mary Kinehorn Hereunto I set my hand & seal December 4th 1838 I appoint my sons James & Peter McDaniel Exrs to this my last will & testament Witness Elisha McDaniel (seal) Samuel Vick (seal) Nathan Baget (seal) Darden (his X mark) Davis (seal) Northampton County March Court 1839 This last Will & Testament of Elisha McDaniel was Exhibited in Open Court & Proved in due form of law by the Oaths of Samuel Vick & Nathan Bagget two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, Ordered by the Court that the will be recorded, Whereupon James McDaniel and Peter McDaniel the Executors therein named qualified as the law directs.
