Devised July 4, 1748, Proven November Court, 1751. In the Name of God amen I Charles Stevenson of N Carolina Nohampton County being very sick but thanks be to almighty God of good & perfect Mine and Memmory Calling to mind the Uncertainty of this transitory life am willing to make my will and to give & Dispose of my Estate as follows. First I bequeath my soul to almighty God that gave it me and my body to be Buryed at the Discretion of my Executor, and after my Debts are paid I give and bequeath my Estate as followeth. I give and bequeath unto my son Benjn Stevenson my Plantation that I Bought of Saml Cannaday with one hundred acres of Land thereunto belonging to him and his heirs forever only my son Wm Stevenson to have the Occupying the sd plantation to his own __ for the Term and __ of Six years. Also I give and bequeath to my sd son Benjn my Negroe wench called Jean, she and her Increase forever, also all the Cattle of mine he is now in Possession of and the Mare that he hath the Possession of. I give and bequeath to my son George Stevenson all my Lands Lying on the N side ye road that Called the Casiah road to him and his heires forever, also my Two Negro Gierls Called Moll and Peg, they and their Increase to him and his heires forever, and also the Cattle of mine that he hath in his Possession and Two her __ to be Paid him out of my Stock, also half my sheep kind & one Dressing Table. Item I give and bequeath to my son William Stevenson my Plantation that I now Dwell upon & all the Land thereunto belonging, Except that already given to my son Geo and one hundred acres to be given Jesse as is hereafter Expressed, to him & his heirs forever, only my wife to have the use thereof During the Term of Six Yeares, Exc Two third part of my Orchard, also I give to my sd son Wm my Still and its furniture and my Negroe Wench Called Laugh, she and her Increase, Except the first Living Child the sd Wench shall bare, I give to my son Jesse, also I give to my sd son Wm my Negroe boy Cypeo, and his ___ Steares, and half my Stock of hogs, one Large Iron Pott and four pounds six shillings Virginia Currency, and one mare & Two Year old horse, which he Calls his, and ___ Cows and Calves & Two heiphers or young Steares, also one feather bed & furniture. I give and bequeath unto my Loving wife Mary Stevenson, one hundred Acres of Land During her natural Life & then to remain to my son Jesse he and his heires forever, the sd Land to be thus bounded, beginning at a gum standing in Saml Collens Line, from thence A northerly Course so as to Include one hundred Acres, also I give and bequeath to my sd wife my negroe fellow Called Jack so Long as She shall Live a widow, and one feather bed and furniture & half my Geese and three Cows and Calves, and one Two gallon Iron Pott, one frying Pan, one Large Table, and four Chaires, & my Two work horses to be keept for the good of my family. Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Stevenson, one Cow and Calf and Two Ewe & Lambs. I give and bequeath the remaining part of my Estate not before given in Legecies to be Equally Divided between my wife and Children hereafter named, Viz. Elizabeth Stevenson, Martha Stevenson, Jesse Stevenson, Susanah Stevenson, and Olive Stevenson. I Do Nominate and appoint my Son William Stevenson, my whole Executor of this my Last will and Testament, as soon as he shall arrive to Lawfull Age, and till such Time, my will and Desire is that my friend Elias Wills do Execute this my sd will and in Witness thereof I do revoke and Disanul all Other will or wills before by me made and this I own to be my Last will , in Wittness hereof I have hereunto Set my hand & affixed my Seal this fourth day of July one thousand Seven hundred and forty Eight. November Court 1751 The within written Will of Charles Stevenson Decd was Exhibited into Court by Wm Stevenson Executor thereof & was proved by the Oath of John Dawson & Abraham Hood two of the subscribing witnesses; and at ye same time ye said Executor was duly qualifyd to Execute the same, which was ordered to be Certifyd.
