The first character of the surname is made so fancy that it was mistaken by the deed recorder as a "P", the actual character is a "V". This is a Veale Family, proven by contact with others on the Internet. WILL OF JOHN VEALE (PEALE) Date: October 10, 1754 Recorded: November 1760 County: Northampton, NC Deceased: John Veale (?-abt Nov 1760) Father: Spouse(s): Milbry [Veale] Text: In the name of God Amen. I JOHN Veale of Northampton County being in perfect health & disposing memory calling to mind the uncertainty of the transitory life am willing to make my will & dispose of my worldly estate as followeth after bequeathing my soul to Almighty God that gave it me and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors after my funeral expenses discharged and my debts are paid, I give & bequeath the rest of my estate as followeth. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son RICHARD Veale three hundred acres of land at Ahosky and two hundred two hundred & fifty six acres where my son WILLIAM did live to him & his heirs forever, also all the stock of hogs belonging to the land at Ahosky. Item. I give and bequeath to William Veale my manor plantation wherein I now live and all the land there unto belonging, also forty acres joyning William Ruffin to him & his heirs forever, also all my stock of hogs belonging the said forty acres joyning William Ruffin. Further. My will and desire is that all my negroes except what is sent after away be equally divided between my two sons Richard Veale & William Veale & to remain theirs they & their increase to them and their heirs forever also all my stock of horses cattle & sheep to be equally divided between my two sons, and my still, handmill, whip saw & cross cut saw for both their uses and not to be divided and all my household utencils to be equally divided between them, except the use & occupation of the above mentioned premises, as are left to my wife. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter PATIENCE LOCKHART my Negro girl called Bick & her increase and my Negro fellow called Cass to her & her heirs forever. Further. My will & desire is that my loving wife MILBRY VEAL shall have the use & occupation of my manorr plantation and the stock of all kinds, to it belonging & all my house hold goods and the balance of my slaves during her natural life and all the remaining par of my estate both real and personal I give to my two sons Richard and William & all to be equally divided between them and their heirs forever. Item. I give & bequeath to my grand daughter MARY LIVINGSTON one feather bed & furniture two cows & calves, two sows & pigs, three puter dishes, six plates, one iron pot & frying pann. Now for the trust & confidence I put in my friend John Dawson and William Bridgers, I do appoint them Executors of this my last will and this I own to be my last will & testament revoking & disallowing of all other wills before by me made. In witnesses where of I have hereunto set my hand & fixed my seal this 10 day of October 1754.
