Northampton County, NC - Will of Robert Washington, 1770 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WILL OF ROBERT WASHINGTON Northampton County, NC I Robert Washington of Northampton County, being sick & weak in Body, but in perfect mind & memory, praised be the Almighty God for it, but knowing the uncertainty of my being hen ??, do make this my last will & testament, as followeth disavowing all other wills or ?? heretofore made by me Item I give & bequeath my soul to God has gave it to me, relying on the merits of my blessed Saviour to have full remission of all my sins, & my body to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named. Item I give to my dear & loving wife six negroes, to wit: Tom, Leroy ??, Sam, Milly, Ralph & Nat, to her & her heirs forever Item My will & desire is that my lands shall be sold to pay my just debts, also all my household furniture & stock except one feather bed Item I give to Sarah Abram, one gold ring. I do constitute and appoint my wife, Thomas Edwards & Benjamin Washington my ???Excrs of this my last will & testament as witness my hand that this 3rd day of May 1770.
