Henderson Marker of Isaac Sanders: This marker is an obelisk about 6 feet tall, inscribed on one side. It says: In Memory of ISAAC SANDERS who was born the 19th day of May 1777, and died the 8th day of Sep. 1821, & was the Father of 11 Children. ____________________ Art thou a man of honest mould, With fervent heart and soul sincere? A Husband, Father, Friend - behold Thy Father slumbers here. The moving wind shall pass away, The warming sun forsake the sky: Thy Father in that dreadful day, Shall live and never die. ****************************** DANIEL JACKSON Son of D. SANDERS FEB. 14, 1884 - OCT. 20, 1956 *************************** This marker was moved from a cemetery near the intersection of Main St. Extension and Hwy. 24 in Swansboro. When the bridge and road were built they were routed through a small cemetery. On the top of the ornately shaped stone is an anchor with HOPE (2 letters on each side of the anchor) Then it says: SARAH C. SANDERS Daughter of B. & S Burns And Wife of Col. Isaac N.
