Onslow County, NC - Susan Henderson & Others Ex-Parte, 1853 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Susan Henderson & Others Ex-Parte - Report Of Division September Term 1853: In this case Alfred E. Simmons was appointed commissioner at December Term 1852 to sell the Slaves names in the petition, and at March Term 1853 Said commissioners reported that he had made Sale of the said Negros for the sum of two thousand six hundred & forty nine dollars; which sale was by the Court carrying on for final hearing, it is ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that the commissioners distribute the fund amoungst the petitioners, in the following proportions - viz: to Susan Henderson widow one ninth part, to Benjamin R. Henderson one ninth, to Josiah S. Henderson one ninth, to Nancy Henderson one ninth, to Lewis Mills administrator of Minervia Mills one ninth, to Lewis Mills in right of his wife ailing one ninth, to the Gaurdian of Matilda C. Henderson one ninth, to Lewis H. Henderson one ninth, and that the said commissioners reserve to himself one ninth in right of his wife Hulda: after paying out of the said fund the cost of this proceeding to be taxed by the Clerk of this Court including the sum of fifty dollars allowed the commissioner for his trouble & service in making said sale and collecting the money.
