July Court 1806. Petition of WILLIAM JONES & his wife SARAH, GEORGE W. MITCHELL & his wife PHEBE OGDEN, JAMES TAYLOR, ALICE McCROHAN, JULIA ANN TAYLOR, DUGOMIER TAYLOR & WILLIAM B. GROVE TAYLOR (the last 3 minors with sd. JAMES TAYLOR their guardian). They stated that JOHN STARKEY late of Onslow Co. died intestate owning land in Carteret Co. in New Bern District & in Onslow Co. in Wilmington District: that the sd land descended to JOHN STARKEY'S 3 daughters who were sd. SARAH & PHEBE & MARY TAYLOR then the wife of sd JAMES TAYLOR, that sd. MARY died in 1803 & her estate descended to sd. JAMES TAYLOR for his lifetime subject to the life estate of sd. ALICE McCROHON, sd. JULIA ANN, DUGOMIER, WILLIAM & JOHN LOUIS TAYLOR her only children; that sd.
