KIRBY stated that he heard THOMAS ODGEN a few days before his death say that he had adopted JNO STARKEY'S child named PHEBY OGDEN STARKEY (the wife of GEO HINSON) & had given her the negroes which he the sd. THOS. OGDEN had received with his wife from JNO STARKEY her father; that JNO. STARKEY in his lifetime had sued for a few of the negroes & if JOHN recovered they would belong to his daughter PHEBE; that he heard WILLIAM JONES say that negro SYLVIA was 1 of the negroes JNO STARKEY had given to THOS.
