Louisa A Wallace petitioned the court to appoint her as administrex of the estate of James G Wallace – which motioned was resisted by Caroline Tilghman alias Wallace who moved the court to appoint her for same – Court appt Caroline as administrex with bond of $3,000 – Louisa appealed which was granted upon her giving bond of $200. Spring Term – 1859 the court appointed Frances D Koonce as the administrator of the estate – Louisa was the mother of the intestate and appealed to Supreme Court. On Feb 1858 James Wallace was between the ages of 16 -21 and married to Caroline Tilghman then under 14 years of age in June 1858 and lived with Wallace until September 23, 1858 when he died still under the age of 21. They were married Feb 1858 December Term 1858 Onslow Co – Caroline applied for letters of administration – Louisa was his mother his highest creditor and his next of kin opposed the motion – based on the fact that they were not married as the applicant was under the age of 14.
