Marriage Contract: Seth Ward & Mary Young, 10 Oct, 1807: Onslow County, NC. 

Onslow Co., NC, Deed Book 1, page 133.

Know all men by these presents that I SETH WARD  of the County of Onslow
(Planter) being this day to be joined in wedlock to MARY YOUNG daughter of
EDWD. YOUNG deceased of the said County & in order to prevent any probable
accident of waste damage or detriment resulting to my said intended wife Mary
from said union and for her better maintainance & advancement in life or of 
her probable  Issue & for divers other good causes me here unto moving have 
this day before marriage made over & by these presents do hereby make over
relinquish & deliver unto my said intended wife Mary in the person of her
special friend HENRY G. MONTFORT To be by him held in trust for her heirs
Executors &ct. for ever all and singular the lands slaves money & property of
what nature or kind so ever it may be to which the said Mary is or may be
intitled to as the daughter of said YOUNG or otherwise unto the said H.G.
MONTFORT his heirs exec. admin. To have and to hold upon the special trust & 
confidence Never the less & to & for the several uses & trusts here after
mentioned that is to say to & for the several uses of the said Mary during the
term of her natural life & to & for the use of the heirs of her body or of 
such persons as the said Mary shall by her last will & testament or by any 
writing purporting to be her last will & signed by the proper hand and name of 
the said Mary do chose & appoints & to & for no other use or uses what ever as 
Witness my hand and seal this 10th. of October 1807 - Signed Sealed & 
Delivered in presence of
