Know all men by these presents that I Moses Fox planter of the county of Onslow 
and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of fifty six 
pounds nineteen shillings and four pence to me in hand paid by James Foy Esquire 
of the same county and state aforesaid the receipt whereof I do acknowledge and 
my self therewith fully satisfied and content in every part have bargained sold 
set over and delivered unto said James Foy one Negro girl named Hannar about nine 
nears old which said Negro I do warrant to be healthy and sound and hole of all 
disorders what ever and I sd Moses Fox for the within consideration do warrant 
said Negro Hanner unto the said James Foy his heirs and assigns for ever free and 
clear of all incumbrance of any nature what ever unto the said James Foy and his 
heirs and from all manner claims what ever unto the sd Foy or his heirs and 
whereunto I have set my hand and fixed my seal this fifteenth May 1789 in the 
presence of us

Onslow County January Term 1790 the within bill of sale was duly proved in open 
court by the oath of Wm. Jinkins a subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be 
registered.
