Onslow County, NC - Henderson Petition For Sale of Slave, 1851 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Petition For Sale Of Slave assumed 1851: Alfred E. Simmons And Benjamin R. Henderson Admins, of Josiah Henderson Jr. Decd, Ex-Parte- Petition For Sale Of Slave This cause coming on to be heard upon the petition and proofs, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the sale of the Negro Harriet is necessary for the payment of debts owing by their intestate. It is ordered adjudged and decreeded by the Court that the petitioners be appointed commissioners to sell the Slave harriet after advertisement for the space of twenty days at the Courthouse in Jacksonville and four other public places within the County of Onslow, and that they give six months credit, taking, bond with good security from the purchaser _________ and further that they report their proceedings at the next term of this Court. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
