Onslow County, NC - Susan Henderson & Division of Slave, 1853 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Susan Henderson Widow and Others Ex-Parte Petition To Sell Slaves For Division: The undersigned appointed Court Commissioner to sell at public sale, the Negroes set forth and described in the Petition, begging leave to report that in obedience to the order of sale made in the case, be advertised at the Courthouse in the Court of Onslow and other public places within said County for the space of twenty days and more, and on the 29th of January last, proceeded to sell the said Negroes at the residence of the widow of Josiah Henderson decd. for the following sums upon a credit of six months with bond and undoubted security being, Hardy and Emmiline to White D. Humphrey for one thousand and sixty dollars - (Six hundred and sixty for Hardy and four hundred dollars for Emmiline) - Ned and Betty to Lewis Mills for four hundred and forty three dollars (Five dollars for need, and four hundred and thirty eight for Betty) Daphney to Josiah S. Henderson for five hundred and eleven dollars.
