Onslow County, NC - Josiah & Margaret Henderson to Thomas Henderson, 1878

State of North Carolina, Onslow County

	Know all men by these presents that we Josiah Smith Henderson
and Margarett Ann Henderson of the County of Onslow and State of
North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred
and fifty dollars to us in hand paid by Thomas B. Henderson of the
aforesaid County and State the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
doth hereby grant bargain sell and convey to the said Thomas B.
Henderson his heirs and assignes forever the following real estate
viz: A piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of
Onslow lying on Poplar Swamp and adjoining the lands of Lewis H.
Henderson and others containing by estimation two hundred acres be 
the same more or less the same being the lands purchased by J. Smith 
Henderson of Aretus Summersill 5 of June 1854 for a fuller and more
satisfactory discription see deed from Aretus Summersill and others
Also the following articles of personal property twenty head of
cattle consisting of cows and other cattle, together with all the 
privilidges and appurtances to the same belonging.  To have and to
hold the same to the said Thomas B. Henderson his heirs and assignes
forever the grantor hereby covenanting with the grantee his heirs
and assignes that the title so conveyed is clear free and imcumbred
and that they will warrant and forever defend the same against all
claims Whatsoever.  In witness whereof the said Josiah Smith Henderson
and Margarett Ann Henderson have here unto set their hands and seals
the 4 day of June 1878.

I R. N. Summersill Justice of the Peace do hereby Certify that 
Margarett A. Henderson wife of J.S. Henderson personally appeared 
before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the
foregoing deed of conveyance of Margarett A. Henderson wife of the
said J. S. Henderson and being by me privately examined seperate
and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of
the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily
without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person
and that she doth still voluntarily assert thereto.  Witness my
hand and seal this 5 day of June 1878.

State of North Carolina, Onslow County In Probate Court

	The above certificate of R.N. Summersill Justice of the Peace 
is adjudged to be correct and J.S. Henderson are of the makers thereof
acknowledges the due execution of the annexed deed before me June 4 
1878 Let the same with all certificates be registered
