A, p. 287-288 To all people to whom these presents shall come I Samuel JAMES Do send greeting Know ye that I the said Samuel JAMES of Onslow County in the province of North Carolina, yeoman for and in consideration of the love good will and affection which I have and do leave towards my living son Enoch JAMES of the same county and province have given and granted and by these presents do freely clearly and absolutely give grant unto he said Enoch JAMES his heirs excd and admn all the tract or parcel of land lying and being in the South west side of the Southwest branch of New River in Onslow County aforesaid commonly — but he name of Barr Neck beginning at a poplar in the side of the South west branch of New River the same being a corner tree of Thomas PARKER and formerly Peter PARKER thence a southwest course by said PARKER lives to a pine being PARKERS corner tree. Thence an East corse by GUISSES? live down a small branch to an elm on MARCHBURNS great branch the same being a corner tree of John GUESS?. Thence down said MARSHBURNS great branch by the various courses of the said branch to the South west thence up the SW branch of New River by and with he various courses of said branch to the first station Poplar containing two hundred and fifty acres to have and to hold the said land and acknowledged he previous? of said lands to the said Enoch JAMES by Twigs and Turf according to due form of law to him his heirs and assigns forever with a ll houses orchards gardens nurseries clear ground wood land ground water and water courses and all other liberties and privileges therein contained free and freely to the said Enoch JAMES his heirs and assigns forever and that the said land and premises now are and so shall and may forever hereafter remain continue and be with the said Enoch JAMES his heirs and assigns forever free and freely acquitted exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former and other gifts grants leases uses? titles or judgements and all other incumbrances of what nature and kind so ever and that the said Enoch JAMES his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times here after have hold use occupie forever and enjoy the said land and premises without the set rule trouble denial molestation interrogation or eviction of the said Samuel JAMES his heirs execs add or assigns forever.
