A, p. 284 To all people to whom these presents shall come I Samuel JAMES Dr? send greeting Know ye that I the said Samuel JAMES of Onslow County in the province of North Carolina, Yeoman for and in consideration of the love good will and affection which I have & do have towards my living son Jacob JAMES of the same county and province have given granted and by these presents do freely clearly and absolutely give and grant unto the said Jacob JAMES his heirs execd or admd all that tract or parcel of land lying and being on the South side of New River and on the West side of Lewis’s Creek in Onslow County aforesaid commonly goes by the name of Lewis?/Lincoln Creek and down the said small branch to said Lewis’s Creek thence my said Creek tot he forks to a corner tree of Ebenezer HOLMES thence along said HOLMES head line to a pin the same being sd HOLMES corner tree thence on a south west corner to a pine near Henderson Creek thence my said Creek to the head the corner tree being a pine near the head of said Creek. Thence north and by east tot he first station Hickory containing six hundred & forty acres To have and to hold the said land and do acknowledge the precision of sd lands to the said Jacob JAMES by Twig and Turf in due form of law to him his heir and assigns forever with all houses orchards gardens nurseries clear ground wood land ground water and water courses and all other liberties and privileges therein and thereon contained free and freely to the sd Jacob JAMES his heirs and assigns forever and that the said land and premises now are — so —— may forever hereafter remain continue and be unto the said Jacob JAMES his heirs and assigns forever free and freely acquitted and discharged of and from all manner of former and other gifts grantor lease use titles or judgements and all other encumbrances of what nature and his forever and that the said Jacob JAMES his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the said land and premises without the — —— trouble denial molestation interrogation or eviction of the said Samuel JAMES his heirs execd adm or ——- forever.
