(March, 2000) Joseph Marshall State of NC No. 910, Page 169 Know ye, that we, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted, paid into our treasury by Joseph Marshall have given and granted, and by these presents do give and grant unto the same Joseph Marshall a tract of land, containing one hundred acres, lying and being in our County of Onslow on Rocky Run joining Daniel Ewbanks, his own land and others, Beginning at a forked red oak tree on the brow of a steep hill near said run thence South eighty four west, 80 poles along Ewbanks line to three post oaks. Then along his other line South 37 west 80 poles to a dead pine tree in Marshall's line then along his line North East 76 East 37 poles to his line. Then along his other line South 294 poles to a water oak (illegible) Branch, John Marshall's line, then South 76 East 72 poles to (illegible) land then North 75 East 70 poles then to the first station, as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear; together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining; to hold to the said Joseph Marshall shall cause this grant to be registered in the Register's office of our said County of Onslow, within twelve months from the date hereof, otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In Testimony whereof, we have caused these our letters to be made patent, and our great seal to be hereunto affixed.
