D. 1841 between William MILLS, Senr. of the one part and Uzzah MILLS on the other part both parties of the County & State above mentioned. Witnesseth that i the said William MILLS, for & in consideration of the Natural love and affection in Which I have & entertain for the said Uzzah MILLS and for the further consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Uzzah MILLS at the time of Execution these presents the receipt where of is here by these presents doth grant, convey alien & confirm unto the said Uzzah MILLS his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in said County of Onslow & State aforesaid situate on the waters of the Esquires?, run adjoining the lands of Stephen HUMPHREY Bryan L. KOONCE, Nathaniel SYLVESTER & others, bounds as follows (viz) - Beginning at an old pointed? Corner the former dividing corner between Jacob WILLIAMS & The heirs of Samuel JOHNSTON, near the N W River? the corner of Nathan ASKEWS old field, so called & running by a Line of marked trees, Stephen HUMPHREYS line, N 50 East to the Esquires run then up the various courses of the Esquires run to the Main road to a maple Tree, then running a straight line Towards the oak grove to near a mile post then the various courses of the main Road to a lightwood Stake, Bryan S. KOONCES Corner - then with his line near a South East Course to a Light wood Stake Bryan S. KOONCE Corner - then with his line Near a South West Course to a lightwood Stake & corner of the one acre lot now owned by Bryan KOONCE and the other Acre lot on which the Methodist Chappel is situated then Running the Course last mentioned 12 8/10 poles to a lightwood Stake in Thomas GLENNS’ patent line being a corner of the — on which the School house & methodist Chapel is situated. Then with Thomas GLENNS patent line measured? South 56 East 184? poles to the beginning To have and to hold the Said lands & premises and all & Singular the tenements, hereditaments — Ways Waters mines minerals improvements rents — — Remainders reversions privileges & appurtenances thereunto. Belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said Uzzah MILLS his heirs and assigns to his & them only proper use & behoof in Fee Simple forever, And the said William MILLS & his heirs all & singular the premises hereby Conveyed to the Said Uzzah MILLS his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant & forever Defend from the Lawful Claims, or Claims of any and all persons whatsoever. And lastly the said William MILLS for himself his heirs Executors & Administrators, had Covenanted & agreed & by these presents doth Covenant & agree to & with the said Uzzah MILLS his heirs & Assigns that he the said William MILLS is now at the time of executing these presents Seized of a good same & indefeasible estate of inheritance in the aforesaid lands & premises, & that he hath full power and lawful authority, to convey the same in manner & form aforesaid and that The said Uzzah MILLS his heirs and assigns shall hence forward have & Hold peaceable possession & quiet enjoyment of the same free from Any and all encumbrances heretofore —, same or supposed by the Said, William MILLS or another person from him in his right or by his procurement.
